Become
Many people believe they are Christians because they were born in a religious home or go to church regularly, try to do their best, or live a good life. However, the Bible teaches that these things cannot make you a Christian. You become a Christian simply by taking these three steps:
1 / Acknowledge that you, like all people, have sinned and fallen short of God’s standards.
. . for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
2 / Personally believe that Jesus Christ, who was God in human flesh, died for your sins on the cross and rose again.
For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
3 / Repent (turn away from your sins), confess, and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.
“The time has come,” He said. “The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!”
Mark 1:15
You may express your belief through prayer, asking Jesus to come into your life, and receiving him as God’s gift to you.
Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God. John 1:12
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
