August 2010 Message – FEAR NOT
A few nights ago I heard the geese practicing on the pond. That is always a signal that the summer is coming to a sad inevitable end; so enjoy! I even saw a few leaves change colour!
Signs are everywhere in the spirit that things are getting darker in the earth, and that through the day and hour are unknown, Jesus’ return too is inevitable. Matthew 24 gives the six signs of the end of the age. See if you don’t recognize them.
#1 Spiritual Deception (V. 4-5) Teachings inspired by Satan himself called “doctrines of demons”. Ministers in churches not preaching, You must be born again”, but saying, “If your parents sprinkled you, (eliminating God’s command, “Repent and be baptized every one of you.” You are His covenant child. God doesn’t have grandchildren. This a lie.
#2 International Conflict (V. 6-7) Think Rwanda, Iraq, Israel, Pakistan, 2nd World War, Korea, Vietnam, Persian Golf. “Nation will rise against nation”.
#3 Natural Disasters (V. 7-8) There are many outbreaks of diseases: anthrax, small pox, nerve gas, chemical warfare, famines, earthquakes. “All these are the beginnings of birth pains. It’s going to get worse!
#4 Fierce Persecution (V. 9) No one memorizes this one! Already in schools, newspapers and magazines we read, see and hear of these signs. How many things have we swallowed as “politically correct”, issues scare us into not being salt and light. Christmas cards, even Christmas tress are being done away with. You can’t say “Merry Christmas”?
#5 Widespread Apostasy (V. 10-12) Christian leaders are departing from faith, the word of God, the blood, virgin birth, lost souls, and forget preaching the gospel. They fulfill 2 Timothy 3:1-9 and have become “lovers of self and pleasures like the Pharisees”.
#6 Worldwide Evangelism (V. 13-14) This is a POSITIVE sign. This is our GOAL our FOCUS our COMMISSION. Matthew 28:19 “Go into all the world and preach the good news! The purpose of preaching is to bring people to REPENTANCE, a change, a decision for Jesus, forsaking the world, becoming kingdom minded – A vast multitude will come to salvation in this end-time revival! The time is NOW. Summer is almost over. There is an urgency. This is the JOSHUA GENERATION. Birth pangs will INCREASE in tempo and intensity, but it’s important to do three things.
1. FEAR NOT!
Get excited, get prepared, get busy sharing, telling, praying with people.
2. GET YOUR LIFE IN ORDER
Remember your rewards and HIS JOY! Make some radical, spiritual changes!
3. KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS!
Don’t look at circumstances. Look to the skies! Your redemption draws near!
Are you ready to meet Jesus! What if you had one week left? Make the most of your time, for the days are evil.
